PART5-My Husband Brought His Secretary on Our Honeymoon… So I Left Before the Plane Took Off

PART 5

When Julian finally realized I wasn’t coming back to the hotel, his first reaction wasn’t sadness.

It wasn’t guilt.

It wasn’t even fear that he had hurt me.

His first reaction was anger.

Pure, unbelievable anger.

Because in his mind…

I wasn’t a person who could leave.

I was an investment.

A possession.

A woman who would always forgive him.

“Call her.”

Sienna stood near the balcony of the oceanfront suite, looking out at the waves crashing below.

Her arms were crossed.

She didn’t look surprised.

That was the part that hurt the most.

She already knew.

“She can’t just do this,” Julian said.

His voice was low.

Controlled.

The same voice he used during business negotiations.

The voice that made employees nervous.

“The wedding was yesterday.”

“I’m her husband.”

Sienna turned around slowly.

“Julian…”

“Maybe she finally figured it out.”

His expression changed.

“What does that mean?”

Sienna looked away.

“It means she isn’t as naive as you thought.”

Julian grabbed his phone again.

He called me.

Once.

Twice.

Ten times.

Every call went unanswered.

Then he sent messages.

Julian: Where are you?

Julian: This isn’t funny.

Julian: Come back. We need to talk.

Julian: Clara, stop acting childish.

I read every message.

But I didn’t respond.

Because I knew something.

The moment I answered…

He would try to control the conversation.

He would explain.

Lie.

Blame.

Twist the story until somehow I became the problem.

I had spent two years watching him do that.

Not anymore.

Meanwhile…

Back in Manhattan, I sat across from my attorney, Evelyn Parker.

She had represented my family for years.

She had handled my father’s estate after his death.

And she was one of the few people in my life who never underestimated me.

She placed a cup of coffee in front of me.

“You haven’t slept.”

“I know.”

“You don’t have to prove you’re strong by suffering.”

I looked down.

“I’m not suffering.”

She raised an eyebrow.

“I’m angry.”

Then I corrected myself.

“I’m disappointed.”

Evelyn opened the file in front of her.

“Let’s review everything.”

Inside were copies of Julian’s messages.

The travel arrangements.

The financial documents.

The evidence I collected.

She shook her head.

“The timing is interesting.”

“What do you mean?”

“He married you yesterday.”

“Then attempted to bring another woman on your honeymoon.”

“And now we’re discovering he was preparing to gain access to your assets.”

She looked at me.

“This doesn’t look like an affair alone.”

“It looks planned.”

That word stayed with me.

Planned.

Because suddenly everything made sense.

The sudden urgency to combine finances.

The constant comments about how “a married couple should share everything.”

The questions about my inheritance.

The pressure to quit my job and “focus on our future.”

It wasn’t love.

It was strategy.
