Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘set for huge trip to America’ in 2026 as Harry and Meghan ‘snubbed’

Prince William and Princess Kate are expected to make a notable visit to the United States in 2026. Reports suggest they will travel in July to take part in celebrations marking the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The visit has not yet been confirmed by their representatives, but sources quoted by Page Six and The Sun indicate that planning is already underway.

This would coincide with a year filled with events on both sides of the Atlantic, and insiders say organisers hope to welcome several senior members of the Royal Family throughout the commemorations.

Harry and Meghan not expected to take part

Despite the scale of the occasion, it appears unlikely that Prince Harry and Meghan will be involved. A source explained that the Sussexes are no longer working royals, therefore they would not be included in official ceremonies. Any participation would require a personal invitation from the Royal Family, and no such invitation is expected at this time.

The couple continue to live in California, but their proximity to the celebrations does not change the situation, according to those familiar with the planning.

A significant year for the monarchy

The visit is being described as a major moment for the anniversary year. King Charles and Queen Camilla are also said to be preparing for a separate trip to the United States in April, although Charles’s attendance will depend on his health. Reports note that he will be monitored closely in the weeks leading up to the journey, since he is receiving treatment for an undisclosed cancer.

If his trip proceeds, it would be his first official visit to the country since 2018, when he represented Queen Elizabeth II at the funeral of former President George H. W. Bush. Queen Camilla is expected to join him for the multi day visit.

William and Kate are anticipated to take part in celebrations leading up to Independence Day on July 4. Their presence is already being viewed as an important highlight of the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary.

Recent ties between the United Kingdom and the United States

In September, President Trump made his second state visit to the United Kingdom. King Charles personally extended the invitation and welcomed the President and First Lady at Windsor Castle. They attended a ceremonial reception and a formal banquet, where William and Kate were also present. According to a White House official, the trip was highly praised and described as beautifully organised.
