Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s new Sandringham neighbours ‘make scathing comments about royal’

Reports suggest Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has relocated to the Sandringham Estate, though reactions from locals have reportedly been mixed.

The move follows Andrew’s departure from Royal Lodge, a residence he had occupied for two decades. The Duke of York, now 65, has faced renewed public scrutiny in recent months, particularly concerning his past association with Jeffrey Epstein.

Local reactions to Andrew’s arrival

According to The Mirror, several Sandringham residents shared candid opinions about their new neighbour.

One local commented that while Sandringham itself remains beloved, Andrew’s presence has stirred strong feelings. Another resident reportedly voiced frustration, expressing the belief that justice should take its course.

A taxi driver, also quoted in the publication, suggested that responsibility for Andrew’s controversies should not extend to other members of the Royal Family. The driver added that the monarchy should not bear the burden of Andrew’s personal situation.

Adjusting to a quieter life

Alongside public reaction, reports indicate Andrew may be struggling to adapt to his new surroundings.

A source cited by the Daily Mail claimed Andrew had reservations about the property, describing it as significantly smaller than homes he previously occupied. Having lived at Royal Lodge since 2004, the adjustment to a more modest residence is said to represent a notable lifestyle change.

Titles and ongoing scrutiny

Buckingham Palace confirmed last year that Andrew’s royal titles and military affiliations were removed amid continued controversy surrounding his connection to Epstein.

Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing. While his name has frequently appeared in legal proceedings and media coverage, being referenced in such contexts does not itself constitute proof of misconduct.

Recent releases of Epstein-related documents by US authorities have reignited discussion about several high-profile individuals, including Andrew. As with previous disclosures, officials have emphasised that inclusion in the files should not be interpreted as evidence of criminal behaviour.

Speculation about future plans

Amid the renewed attention, rumours have surfaced suggesting Andrew could potentially share his account of events.

Former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner noted persistent speculation about a possible memoir. Turner suggested that if such a project were ever to materialise, it could carry significant implications for both Andrew and the wider Royal Family.

At present, these claims remain purely speculative, with no official confirmation of any publishing plans.
