Plastic surgeon reveals secret behind Meghan’s ‘striking’ change

A top Beverly Hills surgeon has shared his professional assessment of Meghan Markle’s evolving appearance, weighing in on whether the differences could stem from cosmetic enhancement after examining what he described as “striking” comparison images.

Dr. Raffi Hovsepian, a widely respected Los Angeles plastic surgeon, analyzed several photos of the Duchess of Sussex taken over multiple years. He compared her most recent nearly makeup-free Harper’s Bazaar cover spread with earlier shoots, including her 2022 feature for The Cut and other past images, noting what he considers a “striking change”—especially in the eye area.

Meghan, now 44, has never addressed the speculation publicly, but online discussions about possible cosmetic procedures continue to swirl around her. Dr. Hovsepian, who clarified he has not treated the Duchess, said he noted clear changes in the “eyelid and upper orbital region,” which he believes could point to surgical refinement.

What the Surgeon Suggested

Speaking with RadarOnline, Dr. Hovsepian explained that Meghan’s current eyelid structure looks “very consistent” with outcomes typically seen following treatments such as upper blepharoplasty, an upper eyelid skin pinch, or a subtle reduction of fat in the area.

“Meghan’s recent photos show a noticeably more lifted, defined, and open upper eyelid area compared to her 2022 images,” Dr. Hovsepian said.

He added, “The tighter skin, higher crease, and reduction in lateral hooding all align with the type of transformation we typically see after an upper blepharoplasty or surgical brow/eyelid rejuvenation.”

He also observed that her eyes appear “brighter, more sculpted, and more refreshed” than in prior years. He described the overall look as “aesthetic, cohesive, and professionally executed—but undeniably noticeable when placed side-by-side.”

Beyond the eyelids, the surgeon also believes there are “midface refinements, smoother under-eye transitions, and improved brow support,” which contribute to what he sees as a more polished and rejuvenated facial structure.

Social Media Reaction: Mixed Theories

Meghan’s latest magazine cover once again reignited debates online, with some users declaring the change dramatic, while others questioned whether cosmetic work is really the cause.

“Meghan’s face is totally different from a few years ago!” one Reddit poster wrote. Another commented, “She has definitely been getting something done to her face.”

Not everyone agreed. Some pointed to aging as a natural explanation rather than surgery.

“Yes she does look noticably different but that may not be because of cosmetic surgery! We naturally lose volume in our face when we age,” one commenter argued.

Another user added simply: “She doesn’t look that different at all.”

A different voice chimed in with a neutral perspective, suggesting the discussion shouldn’t even be controversial:

“She probably did have surgery… I won’t criticise her for that. If you can afford it and want to do it, that is your business!”

Meghan’s Silence on the Topic

Although rumors have followed Meghan for years—ranging from speculation about past rhinoplasty to claims of breast enhancement in her Deal or No Deal era before allegedly reversing those changes later—she has never publicly responded to any of it.

Even this year, interest surged again when Meghan appeared with glowing skin during Paris Fashion Week. However, other experts believe her transformation may be cosmetic-free.

Non-Surgical Radiance: Skincare Instead of Surgery?

Earlier this year, skincare expert Laura Porter shared her own analysis with The Mirror, making a strong case that the changes could be linked to a high-end skincare routine rather than invasive enhancement.

Porter—founder of FAB Skincare—noted that Meghan appears to prioritize “high quality skincare” and likely uses treatments such as “gentle exfoliation, pigment correcting serums like vitamin C, and hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or peptides.”

She also highlighted Meghan’s enthusiasm for facial massage, a practice known to improve blood flow and “gives that lifted, rested look without make-up.”

Porter said, “Her approach shows that good skincare and well-chosen treatments can do far more for radiance than heavy makeup ever could.”

She added one final endorsement of the Duchess’s beauty philosophy:

“Her approach shows that good skincare and well-chosen treatments can do far more for radiance than heavy makeup ever could.”
