Prince Harry Exposes Kate Middleton’s Brutal Texts To Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has once again stirred global attention by revealing the text messages exchanged between Meghan Markle and Catherine, Princess of Wales, during the tense days leading up to the Sussexes’ 2018 wedding. The moment appears in his memoir Spare, where he revisits one of the most controversial disagreements inside the Royal Family. What had long been reduced to tabloid whispers suddenly resurfaced with surprising clarity.

Messages that deepened the tension

According to Harry, the issue began when Catherine texted Meghan to say that Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress did not fit properly. She reportedly said it was too big and that her daughter cried while trying it on. The dresses had been made from early measurements, but Meghan reminded her that a tailor had been waiting at Kensington Palace all day to make any alterations. Catherine, however, supposedly insisted the dresses should be remade entirely.

The exchange unfolded at a moment when Meghan was already overwhelmed by the media storm surrounding her father. Harry writes that she tried to explain this, but Catherine stood firm, noting that the wedding was only days away. The conversation eventually ended with a short and reluctant “Fine.” When Harry returned home later, he found Meghan in tears on the floor, shaken by the exchange.

A story that escaped the couple’s control

Months later, the situation took on a much larger life. Tabloids published a very different version, claiming that Meghan had reduced Catherine to tears. Harry says that during a private meeting in late 2018, Catherine acknowledged that the reports were inaccurate and that she had in fact been the one who upset Meghan. Despite this, the false narrative remained unchallenged, leaving the couple deeply frustrated.

Harry also wrote that Prince William eventually admitted he might have mentioned the argument to their father and Queen Camilla during a dinner, which only added to the Sussexes’ sense of betrayal. The conversation ended quietly, leaving more questions than answers.

Meghan’s public response

Years later, during the 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan addressed the incident without going into detail. She confirmed that Catherine had apologized and that she had forgiven her, but she also expressed how painful it was to be blamed publicly for something she did not do. She said what truly hurt was watching people believe a story that had been repeatedly denied behind the scenes.

In the end, the resurfacing of these messages does little to change what the public already sensed: the tension inside the Royal Family ran far deeper than polished appearances ever suggested. And for Harry and Meghan, the impact of that moment lingered long after the wedding day had passed.
