🚨 MOM’S 10-DAY VACAY LEAVES 16-MONTH-OLD TO DIE 🚨

A mum has been sentenced to life in prison after leaving her 16-month-old baby alone for 10 dayswhile she went on holiday.

Kristel Candelario, 32, from Cleveland, Ohio, jetted off to Puerto Rico and Detroit in June 2023, leaving her daughter Jailyn in a playpen at home.

When she returned 10 days later, she found Jailyn dead from starvation and dehydration.

📹 Neighbours heard cries

Neighbours’ security cameras reportedly captured Jailyn crying multiple times, including in the early hours of the morning, just two days after Kristel left.

She had been left with only a few bottles of milk, and was found in a soiled playpen, weighing seven pounds less than she had two months earlier.

⚖️ Court called it “the ultimate betrayal”

Kristel pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and child endangerment in February 2024.

During sentencing in March, the judge said:

“The only difference between you and your daughter is that prison will feed you and give you water – things you denied her.”

🏖️ Why she did it

Kristel’s defence argued she was struggling with mental health issues and had stopped taking her medication. But prosecutors said nothing excused the horrific suffering her baby endured.

Social media exploded in anger. One comment read:

“How could anyone do this? My heart breaks for that baby.”

Another wrote:

“If you’re struggling as a parent, ASK FOR HELP. This is beyond comprehension.”
