PART7-My Husband Brought His Secretary on Our Honeymoon… So I Left Before the Plane Took Off

PART 7

Three days later…

Julian and Sienna returned from Hawaii.

Their honeymoon lasted only forty-eight hours.

The hotel had asked them to leave after Julian’s payment arrangements were frozen.

The company had received an emergency notice from my attorney.

Several accounts were temporarily restricted.

And Julian discovered something else.

The apartment he thought belonged to both of us…

Was actually protected under a family trust.

My father had created it years earlier.

Julian had never owned a single piece of it.

When he arrived at the building…

The doorman stopped him.

“Mr. Bennett?”

“Yes?”

“I’m sorry, sir.”

“Mrs. Clara Bennett has updated the access list.”

Julian stared.

“What?”

“Your key no longer works.”

For the first time…

Julian stood outside the home he thought he controlled.

And he realized something terrifying.

He had spent years planning how to trap me.

But he never planned for what would happen…

If I escaped.

That night, Julian received another message from Evelyn.

One sentence.

“Mr. Bennett, my client has filed for annulment based on fraud, deception, and evidence of marital misconduct.”

Below it…

Was a court date.

But Julian wasn’t finished.

Because desperate people make dangerous choices.

And the next morning…

I received an unexpected visit.

A woman I had never met stood outside my apartment.

She held a folder.

And when she introduced herself…

The words she said made me realize Julian’s betrayal was far deeper than I ever imagined.

“My name is Olivia.”

“I was Julian’s fiancée before you.”

And she had proof that Julian had done this before.

The woman standing outside my apartment looked nothing like the person I expected to meet.

I imagined someone angry.

Someone bitter.

Someone who wanted revenge.

Instead…

Olivia looked tired.

Not physically.

Emotionally.

Like someone who had carried a heavy secret for years and had finally decided she was done carrying it alone.

She held a thick folder against her chest.

“I know this is a lot,” she said quietly.

“My name is Olivia Hayes.”

“I was engaged to Julian Bennett four years ago.”

For a moment, I couldn’t speak.

Because suddenly everything became clear.

The way Julian spoke.

The way he controlled conversations.

The way he made me feel guilty for questioning him.

It wasn’t new.

It was a pattern.

A pattern Olivia had already survived.

I stepped aside.

“Come in.”

She entered slowly and placed the folder on my dining table.

“I almost didn’t come.”

“Why?”

She looked down.

“Because I spent years convincing myself I was wrong.”

I sat across from her.

“Tell me everything.”

She opened the folder.

The first thing inside was a photograph.

Julian.

And Olivia.

Standing together at what looked like an engagement party.

“He was different in the beginning,” she said.

“They always are.”

Olivia explained that when she met Julian, he was charming.

Generous.

Thoughtful.

He remembered everything about her.

Her favorite flowers.

Her childhood stories.

Her dreams.

“He made me feel like I was the only woman in the world.”

I looked away.

Because those words sounded painfully familiar.

Then slowly…

Things changed.

“He started deciding things for me.”

“What kind of things?”

“Everything.”

“What I wore.”

“Who I spent time with.”

“Where I went.”

“What job I should have.”

At first, Olivia thought it was love.

She thought he cared.

Until she realized…

Care doesn’t feel like a cage.
