PART8-My Husband Brought His Secretary on Our Honeymoon… So I Left Before the Plane Took Off

PART 8

“How did you leave?”

She was quiet for a moment.

“Because I found the messages.”

“What messages?”

“Between him and another woman.”

My stomach tightened.

“Sienna?”

Olivia nodded.

“Yes.”

The room became silent.

“He did this before?”

“Yes.”

“But I thought…”

“I know.”

She looked at me.

“That’s what he wanted you to think.”

Olivia opened another document.

“After I left, I hired a private investigator.”

My eyes widened.

“Why?”

“Because Julian told everyone I was unstable.”

“He told people I ruined the relationship.”

“He told people I was obsessed with him.”

She laughed sadly.

“I needed proof that I wasn’t crazy.”

Inside the folder were records.

Bank transfers.

Emails.

Photographs.

Even recordings.

My heart sank.

“He planned everything.”

Olivia nodded.

“He chooses women who have something he wants.”

“What did he want from you?”

“My family’s investment company.”

Then she looked directly at me.

“And from you…”

“Your inheritance.”

I already knew.

But hearing someone else confirm it made it real.

“Why marry me?” I asked.

Olivia didn’t answer immediately.

Then she said:

“Because you were his perfect target.”

The words hurt.

Not because they were insulting.

Because they were true.

“What do you mean?”

“He told me once…”

She stopped.

“Tell me.”

Olivia took a deep breath.

“He said wealthy women are easier to control because everyone assumes they are protected.”

I felt anger rising inside me.

“He said that?”

“Yes.”

She continued.

“He liked women who were independent.”

“Because breaking independence made him feel powerful.”

“He didn’t want a partner.”

“He wanted someone successful enough to benefit him…”

“…but trusting enough to believe him.”

For several minutes, neither of us spoke.

Then Olivia pushed the folder toward me.

“I want you to have everything.”

“Why?”

“Because I wish someone had warned me.”

That night, I read every document.

Every message.

Every piece of evidence.

And something happened.

Something unexpected.

I stopped feeling embarrassed.

I stopped asking myself how I could have missed the signs.

Because the truth was…

Julian was good at hiding who he was.

That was the point.

The next morning, Evelyn arrived.

When she saw Olivia, she immediately understood.

“You found her.”

I looked surprised.

“You knew?”

Evelyn nodded.

“I suspected.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because I needed confirmation.”

She picked up the folder.

“This changes everything.”

“How?”

Evelyn opened the documents.

“If this proves a repeated pattern of deception before marriage, we can strengthen the annulment case.”

“Not only that…”

She looked at me.

“Criminal charges may be possible.”

“Criminal?”

“Fraud.”

“Financial manipulation.”

“Potential conspiracy.”

She turned another page.

“Especially if he planned to access your assets before the marriage.”

Meanwhile…

Julian had no idea what we had discovered.

He was too busy trying to save his reputation.

He released a statement to the company.

Claiming our marriage had suffered from “private misunderstandings.”

Private misunderstandings.

That was his favorite phrase.

Make abuse sound like disagreement.

Make betrayal sound like confusion.

Make cruelty sound like a mistake.

But this time…

He had underestimated the wrong person.

Two days later…

Evelyn filed new evidence with the court.

The media immediately noticed.

The headline changed.

Before:

“Business Executive Faces Divorce Dispute.”

After:

“New Evidence Reveals Pattern of Alleged Deception by CEO Julian Bennett.”

The company’s board demanded answers.

Investors started asking questions.

Employees began speaking anonymously.

And then…

Something happened that even Julian couldn’t control.

Three women came forward.

Then five.

Then eleven.

All with similar stories.

All describing the same pattern.

Charm.

Trust.

Control.

Betrayal.

Julian watched his carefully built image collapse.

The man who spent years convincing everyone he was powerful…

Was finally exposed.

But he wasn’t ready to give up.

That evening…

I received an envelope delivered by hand.

No return address.

Inside was a handwritten note.

Only one sentence.

“You think you’ve won, Clara. But you don’t know what I’m capable of.”

Evelyn read it twice.

Then her expression changed.

“This is a mistake.”

“What?”

“He threatened you in writing.”

“So?”

“So now he has given us exactly what we need.”

She looked at me.

“Julian just made the biggest mistake of his life.”

But neither of us knew…

That same night, Julian was sitting alone in his empty apartment.

Surrounded by boxes.

Watching his reputation disappear.

And he made a decision.

A desperate decision.

One that would change the entire case.

Because Julian Bennett was not planning to apologize.

He was planning his comeback.

And this time…

He wasn’t targeting my money.

He was targeting me.
